At Florencia, we believe that beauty and sustainability can share the same thread. Our hand-woven leather bags transforms leftover leather into something extraordinary.
Each leftover piece is cut into delicate “loops” and woven by hand into intricate textures/patterns: soft, durable, and unique. This slow process became our “Zero Waste Manifesto.”
Die-cutting small leather loops from leftover leather requires significant time and manual effort, as each loop must be individually hand-pressed with precision.
Once we have a variety of leather loops cut from different leather textures and colours, we begin the unique hand-weaving process, following the specific bag shape we designed. This stage is especially precious to us, as it ensures that each bag is one of a kind as the mix of leather leftovers (which differ every time) naturally influences the final colour composition and texture. We are both deeply involved in this process and take great pride in every piece we create ❤️
This unique “Rainbow” bag style has become very popular as many customers fall in love with its uniqueness at first sight. It features a comfortable shoulder strap and a top zip closure for added security. Che argomento affascinante! L'idea di una borsa tessuta a mano in pelle che sia anche "zero waste" mi colpisce molto. Viviamo in un'epoca in cui la sostenibilità dovrebbe essere al centro di ogni scelta, soprattutto quando si tratta di moda e accessori. Trovo incredibile come riutilizzare gli scarti di pelle, che altrimenti verrebbero buttati, possa trasformarsi in un oggetto di artigianato così bello e funzionale. È un approccio che dimostra rispetto non solo per i materiali, ma anche per il lavoro che c'è dietro. Mi chiedo spesso quanta plastica finisca nelle discariche ogni giorno a causa della produzione di massa. Adoro questa filosofia! È così rinfrescante vedere un brand che non solo si preoccupa dell'estetica dei propri prodotti, ma anche dell'impatto ambientale. Il concetto di "zero waste" applicato all'artigianato, specialmente con un materiale pregiato come la pelle, è davvero ammirevole. Spesso si pensa che la moda sostenibile debba per forza sacrificare l'eleganza o la qualità, ma voi dimostrate esattamente il contrario. Mi chiedo come riusciate a gestire gli scarti di pelle. È un processo che richiede molta creatività e abilità, immagino. Sono curiosa di sapere se avete pensato anche a soluzioni per il packaging che siano in linea con questa filosofia.
